Gough SGBK Copper Tile Snowguards
The Gough English Tile Snowguard Model SGBK is designed to be installed on new and existing Ludowici Clay "book" roof tile. This Snowguard is made of 24-ounce cold rolled copper. The upper strap is 32-ounce cold rolled copper.
It is fitted close to the tile so as not to hold-up the row of tile above it. It includes two vertical pedestals of double 24-ounce copper making it the strongest, most stable, snowguard on the market. The wide, flat copper base allows the guard to hug close to the tile. It's medium height provides stability.
It weighs 5.7 ounces, is 8 3/4 inches long, has a 3 1/4 inch wide face, and protrudes up from roof about 1 3/8 inches. Also available in lead-coated copper or powder-coated at additional cost. Custom sizes are available as well.
RAFTER LENGTHS UP TO 16 FEET:
Traditionally, for over 80 years, in residential applications, SnoGuards have been installed 30 inches to 36 inches on center in each row with 3 staggered rows beginning above the outside wall at the eave. Tile roofs may need two additional rows of snow guards for this length rafter.
RAFTER LENGTHS OVER 16 FEET:
The number of rows is increased with rafter lengths over 16 feet and with roof pitches greater than 6:12.
Increased snow load in some areas, drifting, vibration, proximity to other buildings, etc., may require additional SnoGuards per square farther up the roof.
