It is fitted close to the tile so as not to hold-up the row of tile above it. It includes two vertical pedestals of double 24 ounce copper making it the strongest, most stable, snow guard on the market. The wide, flat copper base allows the guard to hug close to the tile. It's medium height provides stability. It weighs 5.7 ounces, is 8 3/4 inches long, has a 3 1/4 inch wide face, and protrudes up from roof about 1 3/8 inches. Also available in lead coated copper or powder-coated at additional cost. Custom sizes are available as well.
This item requires at least one week lead time and is non-returnable.
Snow guards should be installed where the potential for the sudden sliding of ice and snow can be hazardous to people or property below. Falling snow is a life safety issue, and careful consideration of liability issues should be part of a carefully designed roof system in all areas prone to winter snow and ice.

RAFTER LENGTHS UP TO 16 FEET *
Traditionally, for over 80 years, in residential applications, SnoGuards have been installed 30" to 36" on center in each row with 3 staggered rows beginning above the outside wall at the eave, i.e. approximately one per linear foot above gutter line. Tile roofs may need two additional rows of snow guards for this length rafter.
RAFTER LENGTHS OVER 16 FEET :
The number of rows is increased with rafter lengths over 16 feet and with roof pitches greater than 6:12.
Increased snow load in some areas, drifting, vibration, proximity to other buildings, etc., may require additional SnoGuards per square farther up the roof.
